Inkwell City
The Inkwell City was originally created by an alliance of witches as a place for the librarians to live while doing their jobs of protecting the story realms. As the witches anticipated that more and more librarians would be instated over time to oversee the many, many great stories that are written and turned into story realms, Inkwell City is enchanted to constantly grow to accommodate its population. To protect the librarians, it is also enchanted so that very powerful storied ones will be weakened upon arrival until they return to their home realms.
---The Library
The Library is where the portals to every story realm are kept. Every book is actually a portal to the realm of the story that it tells. When a new story is written and deemed worthy of having its own story realm, a new book appears in the Library.
---The Inkwell
The Inkwell is the magical object to which Inkwell City is bound. It is sealed in a building by the same name under a protection spell. If unsealed, Inkwell City would be destroyed, and free travel between story realms would be reopened. The Inkwell can only be unsealed if all librarians use their keys at once. Zeus and the other original conquerors are also locked away with the Inkwell.
---Downtown
To help the librarians with their homesickness, the Downtown area is enchanted so that everyone living in Inkwell City can find a small part of the area that looks just like their home. Downtown is populated and run by clones of storied ones who were "born" to serve the librarians while they protect the story realms.
Other Dimensions
Other dimensions can be accessed through the Library.
To name a few...
---Unenchanted Realm
The Unenchanted is not a story realm; it is the real world, where most mortals live.
---Olympus
The home of the gods of Greek mythology.
