Pitch from the Creator!: A few words on why we're different.
Inkwell City is different from other crossover RPGs for many reasons. Firstly, we worked hard on an original plot with many inciting forces to really drive a story; it is not just a vague explanation for shoving characters from different fandoms into one universe. While we do not restrict the type of media your character comes from (book, movie, graphic novel, etc.), we require that characters originate from the public domain (old enough to no longer be protected by copyright). These two rules have one goal: encouraging creativity. We want to grant as much creative freedom as possible by allowing characters to be pulled from a variety of sources, but we would like to avoid characters that are still widely known and appreciated so that roleplayers are forced to put in some original thought to make the character interesting and appealing. The goal here is not to "accurately" play a character from your favorite recent fandom; it is to create an original story that is all our own. Inkwell City is by real writers, for real writers, intended for real writing (at all levels! we're not snobs). We also have different themes every few months to change up the story environment so that there's never a dull moment.
If that pitch interests you, yay! Continue reading for a very quick guide to the lore of Inkwell City so you can get the gist of it and make the final decision about whether or not you want to join without having to read the lengthier descriptions (which is worth it later on if you do decide to join).
